Case Sizes & Taxi Boot Space Calculator
Work Out Exactly What Size Taxi or Minibus You Need
Getting the right vehicle for your Newcastle Airport transfer matters more than most people think. Too small and your bags won't fit. Too large and you're paying for space you don't need. Our free vehicle finder calculator takes the guesswork out completely — just enter your passengers and luggage and it tells you instantly which vehicle is right for your trip.
How To Use The Calculator
Step 1 — Add Your Passengers Enter the number of adults and children travelling. Both count as one passenger each — including infants and toddlers who will occupy a seat.
Step 2 — Add Your Luggage Select how many bags you're travelling with using the bag types below. Not sure what size your case is? Use the luggage size guide further down this page.
Step 3 — Get Your Recommendation The calculator instantly tells you which vehicle fits your group, with boot space and passenger capacity confirmed. Then hit Check Prices & Book to see live availability and your fixed fare.

TIPS
Top Tips For Choosing The Right Airport Taxi
✔ Always go one size up if you're borderline If the calculator recommends a Saloon but you have four large cases, an Estate gives you the breathing room you need. Boot space figures are maximums, not guarantees.
✔ Don't forget hand luggage Most people remember their suitcases but forget to count carry-ons, laptop bags, pushchairs, or golf bags. Add everything into the calculator — it all takes up space.
✔ Pushchairs and wheelchairs count A folded pushchair or wheelchair takes up significant boot space. Include it in your luggage count by adding it as a large or extra-large bag.
✔ UK vehicle boots are smaller than you expect UK saloon cars typically have 200–250L of usable boot space — much less than an American or European SUV. Don't assume a standard taxi will swallow everything.
✔ Travelling with sports equipment? Golf clubs, skis, surfboards, or bike bags need specialist planning. If you're carrying oversized items, contact us before booking so we can make sure the right vehicle is available.
✔ Splitting luggage across two vehicles costs more If in doubt, upgrade the vehicle. Booking two smaller vehicles is almost always more expensive than booking one larger one — and far less convenient.
✔ Children's car seats take up space too If you're adding a child seat to your booking, bear in mind it occupies a full passenger seat and can limit boot access depending on the vehicle. Check our child seat guide for more.
